Torno a rompervi le scatole perché mi piace confrontarmi e ascoltare i vari pareri. Vi chiedo quindi di indicare le vostre TRE release thrash preferite anno per anno, dal 1983 al 2018. Si può inserire tutto, full length, EP, live e quello che vi pare, purché rientri nel perimetro del thrash. Vanno ovviamente bene anche album di confine con altri generi.

Ho incluso anche il primo dei Suicidal ma non so se ti va bene perche' mi ricordo che lo consideravamo hc mentre oggi si chiama piu' crossover quindi dimmi tu
Walls of Jericho (lasciando perdere la discografia futura della band) x me rientra nello speed/thrash visto che possiamo estendere ai generi limitrofi..

Ah: ho messo dischi che qualcuno definisce groove...per me è sempre thrash

Ok allora metto anche quello che oggi si chiama groove (sono indecisa pero' x i DevilDriver perché quell'album di fatto ha riff thrash ma forse alla prima impressione non lo è. Idem gli Atheist) ma che allora entrava nel thrash "moderno" e poi aggiorno questo di volta in volta. Anni 80 difficile scegliere soprattutto 88/89 x me...

Fatto bene!! una domanda, per caso si considera anche i gruppi heavy/groove/speed ecc come Venom, Bathory, Pantera, Sepultura, che comunque sono inglobati nel thrash anche se non proprio purissimi?
In qualuqnue caso il 1986 è un anno particolarmente rognosetto, pure con tre opzioni

Tanti anni in realtà sono difficili
Ho dovuto lasciare fuori tanta roba dai Death Angel ai Sacred Reich ai Whiplash a Years of Decay e soprattutto il primo degli Holy Terror che x me è fantastico
Io ho incluso il groove, dopotutto se ci pensi in certe annate il thrash old school stava molto male e a mio parere gli esempi migliori di quelle sonorità venivano dal groove che stava a metà strada fra il nu e il thrash classico (infatti non esisteva come termine).
Ho dubbi su Roots però... che dici Grin, lo tolgo? (A proposito preferisci che ti chiamiamo Giorgio?)

Se metti anche il loro capolavoro del 2007 ti rifai per tutte le uscite da senza cuore che hai scritto in passato. Ma fino ad allora non ti perdono.

per quello ho il dubbio, nel groove ci sono gruppi attinenti al thrash (Pantera, Sepultura fino al 1990) mentre altri tipo Lamb of God o DD che non so se li metterei dentro. Vedo cosa dice Grin che ne sa di più sull'argomento

Personalmente escluderò tutto il groove, includendo solo qualcosa di confine con death e black. Però ognuno può mettere ciò che ritiene più opportuno, quindi anche i DD volendo. Li ho pure inseriti nel libro, quindi le connessioni le ho sentite anche io

@Silvia bella scelta gli Helloween, inseriti nell'ultimo libro proprio con un pezzo da Walls of Jericho
