Del progressive rock non conosco praticamente niente, nel progressive metal trovo più ritmi sostenuti e trame complesse, qualche consiglio in merito a caratteristiche simili nel rock da te citato?
Il Prog Metal è molto influenzato dagli Yes, gruppo tra i più tecnici dei tempi, che riusciva comunque a mantenere una certa sobrietà e raffinatezza settantiana. Poi indubbiamente i Rush del periodo progressive sono un altra ispirazione fondamentale. E anche i King Crimson, che in quanto a trame complesse... i DT gli fanno una sega (ed anche ai Gentle Giant, che però vengono ripresi in pochissime band metal, principalmente dagli Haken).
