Saluti The Thrasher! Volevo solo comunicare che trovo difficoltà a lasciare un commento sul tuo ultimo articolo (BEYOND THE IRON CURTAIN - # 1 - Metal e Satanismo, parte prima). Nello specifico l'ho scritto e non me lo ha pubblicato, poi più volte ho tentato di incollarlo ma non è mai passato (poi ne trovi uno che in realtà mi ha pubblicato non so perchè ed era solo una prova con qualcosa di diverso). Ciao Rino! Sono Alex il bassista dei Punition Babek. Volevo ringraziarti per la recensione, fa piacere leggere un così buon parere sul nostro lavoro. Però abbiamo un problema. Il disco è stato registrato con due chitarre, ovvero con Stefano "Roccio" Pollio. Anche se non suona più con noi il suo contributo è stato fondamentale. Mi sembra il minimo dargli riconoscimento (ed evitare casini). Potresti gentilmente intervenire sulla parte in cui parli delle chitarre? Altrimenti dimmi pure come possiamo ovviare alla cosa. ciao AL, le impressioni sono simili a quelle di Ironbound: canzoni valide, devastanti, produzione incredibile, suoni fantastici, grandi riff thrash.. ma è un disco che si ascolta, ti esalta e poi fa il suo tempo, non resta impresso nella memoria come un capolavoro.. e gli overkill degli ultimi tempi secondo me continuano a sfornare album di questo tipo, validissimi per carità ma magari sarebbe più incisivo registrare un unico album capace di restare impresso meglio nella memoria piuttosto che 3 o 4 dischi impeccabili ma troppo simili tra loro, costituiti dello stesso canovaccio ripetuto quasi più 'perchè il thrash si fa così' che con reale feeling e passione... io vedo questo: loro sanno come si fa e continuano ad applicare la ricetta. i risultati sono ottimi, ma ancora non mi convincono pienamente |

Ciao Metallico, grazie come sempre dei complimenti! per quanto riguarda gli album dei Vendetta devo ammettere che conosco solo 'Brain Damage' e mi piace abbastanza, e non escludo che in seguito verrà recensito su queste pagine.. identico discorso per i Coroner: com saprai la sezione ''rispolverati'' ci permette di pubblicare ogni settimana i dischi mancanti e prima o poi sarà anche la volta dei Coroner! |

'The Blackening' l'ho ascoltato molto, è stato uno dei primissimi dischi che ho apprezzato ma devo ammettere che adesso non lo ascolto veramente da tempo immemore! Andrò a ripassarmelo per darti un giudizio più concreto, perchè rispetto a 4-4 anni fa mi sono assestato maggiormente verso il thrash ottantiano e mastico meno volentieri il post-thrash sorto nei Nineties, come forse avrai notato nei miei pezzi sicuramente lo riascolterò per aggiornare l'idea che mi era rimasta di quel disco |

Ciao AL grazie infinite per i complimenti, non sai quanto fa piacere vedere apprezzato il proprio lavoro! Allora, 'Endgame' dei Megadeth è un disco complesso, sicuramente potente e decisamente migliore degli ultimi della band di Mustaine: i tre ultimi album erano già stati un passo avanti rispetto a Risk e Cryptic Writings, 'Endgame' è un ulteriore avvicinamento sui sentieri più duri della produzione megadethiana, ma forse troppo 'freddo', non riesce a conquistarmi appieno, e mi riferisco alle vocals, mi sembrano un pò noiose e coprono un pò l'ottimo fatturato tecnico musicale. Ci tengo a precisare che Megadave è un personaggio che adoro e di cui saono grande fan. L'ultimo Testament, che ora è anche un pò datato, è un vero cazzotto in faccia che mi era molto piaciuto, privo di compromessi, diretto, una dimostrazione di forza notevole epr una band che ha la sua età e un cantante che è guarito da un brutto male: non è all'altezza di The Gathering ma è un gran bel discone, ci mancavano! |

The band started up playing Metal covers but soon began writing original material, culminating in the release of "LAME BRAIN SOCIETY" in the autumn of 1999; with six tracks of hard hitting "in the face" tunes. Powerful drums, fast and furious guitars combined with solid rhythms and catchy riffs make FURNAZE a welcome break from run of the mill Metal outfits. In 2001 FURNAZE were joined by ANDIE CAYNE on bass and concentrated on writing and recording new material, their second EP, "NO STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN", demonstrating mature song writing and individual style. After a few line-up changes, FURNAZE re-united with original drummer and founder member DANIEL ZEMAN. Numerous live performances followed both in the United Kingdom and Germany, with the band building a strong and loyal following along the way. To date, Furnaze have been offered a support slot on the Tarja (ex Nightwish) "Final Storm " 2009 tour, and are currently getting ready for the next achievement in the band's long catalogue of successes. |
