I Warlord hanno annunciato per il 27 giugno la pubblicazione, tramite la High Roller Records, del loro nuovo album The Lost Archangel.
When William J. Tsamis, founder of epic metal heroes Warlord, passed away far too soon on May 13, 2021 at the age of just 60, it seemed to many to mark the end of one of America's most creative metal bands. But surprisingly, Warlord struck back with a new line-up and a new studio album, “Free Spirit Soar” (on High Roller Records). That studio album was followed in the same year by the limited edition compilation “From The Ashes To The Archives - The Hot Pursuit Continues”, which was intended to whet the appetite for Warlord's 2024 festival tour with their new singer Giles Lavery (who also sings with Jack Starr and Alcatrazz). On the schedule were: Trveheim (Germany), Golden R Festival (Greece), Pyrenean Warriors (France) and Metalitalia (Italy). Warlord had come up with something very special for these shows: Ahead of each gig, a new song was released exclusively on the internet. All four are on “The Lost Archangel” in physical form for the first time. Giles Lavery raves about these gigs: "The reactions at these shows were incredible. They were beyond our wildest dreams. The fans sang every word with us - the energy emanating from this festival audience knew no bounds."
The four songs in question are “Golgotha (Place Of The Skull)”, “The Rainbow”, “Lost Archangel” and “Stygian Passage”. Giles Lavery goes into detail: "They are all brand new recordings. 'The Rainbow' comes from an old Warlord demo from the very early eighties. We reworked the song. The other three tracks are from Lordian Guard albums. We felt that we could rearrange them very well into Warlord numbers. So why not release them as well? Our guitarist Eric and I produced the four new tracks, using digital home equipment but also in professional studios." In addition to the four new recordings, “The Lost Archangel” also offers new interpretations of some Warlord classics alongside older and new live recordings. An all-round successful package for fans and collectors.
