KAMELOT: Roy Khan abbandona la band!

Viene pubblicato sul blog myspace ufficiale del talentuoso singer Roy Khan la notizia bomba: l'artista ha infatti abbandonato i Kamelot, la band con cui ha condiviso gran parte della sua carriera musicale e che l'ha portato letteralmente in cima al mondo metal. Khan, nel comunicato rivolto ai fan e che potrete leggere anche qui di seguito in lingua originale, spiegqa di aver avvisato la band di questa scelta già ad autunno 2010, e che -dopo una discussione con i membri della band- abbia scelto di prendersi del tempo per pensarci sopra, anche per non cagionare un danno alle vendite dei biglietti. Attualmente non ci sono informazioni sul futuro della band, ma è chiaro che i Kamelot non potranno che scegliere un cantante all'altezza di Khan: che il recente ingresso live di Lione possa esser stato, in un certo senso, una prova generale per il nuovo cantante e -soprattutto- per testare l'apprezzamento del pubblico? There have been a lot of speculations around why I am not touring with Kamelot and I want to make a statement although it may not prevent further guessing as to what's actually going on. It is a fact however that I told the guys in the band already last fall (well after my burnout) that I was leaving the band. Naturally enough they were shocked (as was the label and everyone else working with Kamelot). In addition to risk of dropping ticket sales they wanted to give me time to think things over, and so I did. My decision still stands; It is finished.
I am currently spending time with my family in Norway taking it easy and wondering profoundly what the future is going to bring. Communication with the outer world has been so and so, but I have had several talks with Thomas along the way although I am still called in sick. I am terribly sorry that my decision is affecting so many others and I want you to know I wish the band & associates all the best for the future and that I enjoyed every second in the spotlight. How could I not...they were nourished by the best fans in the world! I am eternally thankful for everything you and Kamelot have given me and equally sorry that it has to end here. The good news is; God was there after all...

Date le ultime circostanze con un amico si dibatteva che manca solo un bassista ed esce fuori un quintetto della madonna, Khan (voce); Loomis e KK (chitarre) e Williams (batteria) si apre quindi il toto scommesse? |

Mah. Inizio anche a dubitare dell'esaurimento nervoso (che già mi convinceva poco). Una grande perdità per la band e per il cantante; era pura alchimia. almeno non mi lagnerò più per il fatto che volevo sentirli con Khan live, posso mettermi l'anima in pace. |

Ma niente niente non sarà un nuovo trend cominciato con i Velvet revolver e proseguito dai Dream Theater, quello dell'abbandono di un membro importante del gruppo per far parlare della band e poi tirare avanti una specie di telenovela con audizioni e voci su eventuali ingressi? |

Mio dio... Diciamo che in un certo senso si sapeva o quanto meno era da aspettarselo, ma fa sempre un certo effetto leggere 'ste cose. Mi dispiace davvero parecchio sia per i Kamelot che perdono un cantante del genere sia per Roy che avrà avuto i suoi buoni motivi, sperando che i suoi problemi di salute non siano poi tanto gravi... Francamente non credo sia Lione il nuovo cantante, ma non mi dispiacerebbe affatto! |
